He has established and is founder of Ayodhana Kalarippayattu Gurukul, Bangaluru. Along with Kalarippayattu he is also trained in different martial arts forms, e.g.

Wushu(National medalist),

Karate (Second dan black belt),

Kubudo, Boxing, Kungfu(Black belt) Taekwondo, MMA, etc.

He has participated in district, state and national championships in different forms and brought laurels by winning medals.

Manoj Kumar Gurukkal is on a mission to spread this ancient martial tradition throughout the world by conducting online/offline camps, seminars and workshops in national and international arena.

He is also doing his research on Kalarippayattu to understand the possibilities of this ancient martial art as a traditional and scientific fitness regime, traditional art form and most effective self-defense mechanism in modern world.

Manoj Gurukkal also designed different training methods for the new generation by considering their present life style, mental and physical needs with this traditional art form’s values and norms.
