Kalaripayattu courses

Under  any course in regular Batches, training will only end after completion of 18 adavus ( 18 levels) of Kalaripayattu. There are multiple crash courses available on Meythari , Kolthari, Angathari and Verumkai . Don’t forget to mention your requirement and purpose of learning at the time of enquiry. So we can suggest you the best option as per your requirements.
We combine traditional methods and techniques of Kalaripayattu and teach them in a form useful for the present world.

Regular Batches

Pre - Beginner (3 hours/week)

The  purpose of this pre beginner course is to encourage everyone to learn this ancient Indian martial arts and fitness tradition. This course is mainly aiming for those who don't have any kind of fitness background or suffering from any kind of health conditions and trying to get into physical activities as per doctor's suggestion. Also those who are looking from fitness perception can also choose this course.  Under this course training will be slightly customised and going as per the capacity and need of the disciples.

Beginner course (6 hours/week)

The beginner course is for those who don't have any physical or medical complications and are  ready to learn this martial art form as it is used to practice in the olden days. This course demands a better fitness level.

Pre - intermediate ( 9 hours / week)

Pre intermediate level course is only allowed to choose after minimum training of 90 days basic course.

Intermediate course ( 12 hours/week)

Completion of basic or pre - intermediate course for minimum 120 days is mandatory to join Intermediate course.

Pre - Advanced course (24 hours/ week)

This course is only for those who have completed any of the above mentioned courses for 8 months or above. Training hours will be every day 4 hours ( Sunday holiday).This course is most suitable for disciples who are preparing for  Kalaripayattu championships and performances.

Pre - Advanced course (24 hours/ week)

The highest course a disciple can enroll under AYODHANA KALARIPAYATTU GURUKUL. Everyday need to go under 6 hours of rigorous training (Sunday holiday).

The main purpose of this course is to groom the best Kalaripayattu disciples who can take our tradition and culture forward and pass it to the next generations. Those who are planning to take Kalaripayattu as a carrier, this course will be the best option to go.

Online Courses

We do online courses on Meythari ( Body strength and conditioning, Ashta vadivu, kalukal, kaluyarthi payattu, poorhara vandanam, chumattadi, meypayattu , Guruvanakkam, ashtadik vanakkam, nagavanakkam,etc..)and KOLTHARI (Padaveeshu, pantheeran veeshu, iratta pantheeran, vadiyum chuvadum, etc).

We won't teach Angathari (metal weapon) and Verumkai (bare hand fighting techniques) online. Those who are interested Angathari and Verumkai can come to our gurukul in person.
