Due to the disciplined and highly demanding training from the roots Kalarippayattu can enhance one’s fitness, flexibility, mobility, agility, reflection,etc to the next level. Hence practicing Kalarippayattu can be an add on to their performance level.

Though Kalarippayattu has it’s own traditional apparels, it’s not necessary to practice with that. You can use comfortables like shorts, track pants, t-shirts,etc. Make sure your dress is not restricting your movements/training.

In traditional way weapon training will be starting after completion of Meythari. That itself will take nearly 3-4 years. But considering the modern busy lifestyle we have kept a basic criteria. If someone is practicing consistently, they can complete the mentioned syllabus within 12 months and start weapon training. Apart from this we do online/offline workshops for certain weapon training, through which you can achieve your goals.

Kalarippayattu has 18 Adavu’s ( Syllabuses) which has divided into 4 stages (Meythari,kolthari,angathari and verumkai)
Other than this there is a 5th stage which is called Kalari chikitsa (kalari treatment) this will come after completion of 18 Adavu’s.

Like any other sports Kalarippayattu also has it’s own specific meals to have for fast healing and high performance. But it is not needed for the beginners. However maintaining a healthy diet is advisable.

Yes we do provide certificate. But it will be provided only on the successful completion of opted courses.

It’s not about the time one dedicates, it depends on individual’s learning capacity, age, consistency, and hours of training per day, etc.
However If a disciple dedicates 4-6 hours every day, they will be able to complete the 18 Adavu’s (Syllabuses) within 5-6years.

Fitness:
If you are looking for fitness activity which is different from the commen fitness routines, then Kalarippayattu is the best option for you.
It’s structured and scientific training method will help you to achieve your fitness goals without boredom. Also by practicing Kalarippayattu you are not only getting fit but also learning one of the most ancient martial art form.
Self defence:
If you are looking for self defence program, then also Kalarippayattu can be the best option as the updated version of the traditional fighting techniques as per the modern world will be the most useful methods one can use.
Kalarippayattu’s poottukal (locks), adithada (strikes and locks), marmma prayogam (vital point attacks) will be more useful for women and children as well.

Traditional art form:
If someone want to explore a traditional art form , Kalarippayattu is the one of the best option. As per the studies it is mentioned that Kalarippayattu’s presence is clearly visible in more than 32 other traditional art forms. That itself is showing the importance of Kalarippayattu.
